Dear England
It’s time to change the game.
The country that gave the world football has since delivered a painful pattern of loss. Why can’t England’s men win at their own game? The team has the worst track record for penalties in the world, and manager Gareth Southgate knows he needs to open his mind and face up to the years of hurt to take team and country back to the promised land.
Joseph Fiennes’ portrayal of Gareth Southgate is ‘pitch-perfect’ (Time Out) in this ‘thrilling’ (Sunday Times) new play by James Graham, with set design by Es Devlin. Graham reunites with director Rupert Goold, following their acclaimed productions of Tammy Faye and Ink, in this gripping ‘new stage epic’ (Telegraph) about both nation and game.

Brilliant

Thoroughly enjoyed this production, totally different to anything I had seen before. The cast were spot on and the scene changes although simple were very effective. Thoroughly recommended even if you are not a football fan

It was good I enjoyed it. Joseph Fiennes was outstanding he could have been Gareth Southgate. I think as probably too near the stage but I wondered how good the sound would have been nearer the back

What a fantastic show, very funny but also though provoking and emotional in the story being excellently conveyed. The cast were amazing and very detailed in all their individual portrayals of the characters they represented.

Fascinating to see the psychological side of management. Interesting to see the cast play several parts. Good use of the effects on stage.
